The Ohio Primary

Barack Obama never called
Which wasn't very nice
Hillary Clinton called me, more than twice
I'm the wrong demo, a woman, old and white
Still, a call asking for my vote would have been right

I voted for him anyway, he made me feel such hope
That if elected President, we would begin to cope
With health care, education, jobs, and the economy
Having a better world for my grandkids, would mean a lot to me

I woke up this morning to a still divided party
While all the Republicans are feeling hale and hardy
We, the Democrats, need to find a way of uniting
We, the Democrats need to stop all the ugly fighting

Last night, Hillary won three races
But in delegates, Obama still paces
Two strong candidates, but still I fear
Waking up to President McCain
In November of this year

Too many times I've gone to bed
Believing a race is won
And in the morning, scratched my head
Surprises aren't always fun

I know I sound pessimistic
And I really don't want to grouse
But I also don't want an old white guy
Living in that big white house
